Wade Phillips is out as the Houston Texans defensive coordinator. He had stated no matter who they hired as head coach he would have liked to have stayed on as the DC but that will not be the case.
Sources around the internet seem to be saying Romeo Crennel is the #1 candidate to take over as DC for the Texans but as of today he is still unemployed and is still planning on coaching in the high school all american game in two weeks.
Jim Caldwell had an interview with the Lions ownership staff and they brought Matthew Stafford along for the process as well. Caldwell was quoted as saying the Lions job is an unusually good coaching vacancy.
The Falcons have fired their defensive line coach and have requested to interview Browns defensive line coach Joe Cullen.
The Browns top two candidates are Josh McDaniels and Bob Stoops, my gut feeling is telling him Stoops is their top guy but they want to get through the interview process to make sure they are making right choice.
Just a random college note I am hearing former Browns coach Rob Chudzinski is leading candidate at Miami, I'd love to see Butch Davis and their is word he may be a candidate but I just don't think Miami can bring him back after his issues at UNC.
