Giants Disclosing Future Plans?

Jerry Reese stated recently that the team can not go into next season thinking David Wilson as the #1 back. With the neck injury that can still be determined career threatening and with impending free agent Andre Brown the team has question marks at the running back position.

Andre Brown has stated that if the Giants wanted to give him a deal he would be ready to sign it tomorrow. Brown would like to remain a Giant and I believe the feeling is mutual.

There are some enticing names on the Free Agent list this season that the Giants may be interested in as well. The Jaguars recently stated they are willing to let Maurice Jones-Drew test the free agent market and the oft injured Darren McFadden is going to test the waters as well. Some big time back ups will also be available like Ben Tate, Toby Gerhart and James Starks.

Another position in which the Giants have a free agent decision to make is at middle linebacker. After a mid season trade that brought Jon Beason to the Giants this defense turned the corner. Beason, 28, had 98 tackles with the Giants over the 8 games he was with the team. He has also stated he would love to return and play in New York and even Jerry Reese stated what a difference he saw in the defense once Beason arrive.

All in all the Giants have many questions to answer going into this off season and running back and linebacker are positions they could answer quicker than others.
