And Then There Was One

In a not so surprising move the Minnesota Vikings have hired Mike Zimmer to be their head coach. Zimmer who was the defensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals for the last 6 seasons has finally received his chance to be a head coach.

This year many outsiders got to see Mike Zimmer on HBO's show "Hard Knocks" which created a lot of talk around the league that Zimmer was a head coaching candidate in waiting. Zimmer did an excellent job this season keeping his defense one of the tops in the league while losing some key defenders.

The Vikings decided to go with a defensive minded coach again after having Leslie Frazier their former defensive coordinator as their head coach. Zimmer gets a lot of love from his players, former and current. He is well respected and will bring a sense of toughness to Minnesota.

Right now the leading candidate for offensive coordinator is the browns Norv Turner.
