Have a Good Season and Buy Your Teammates What?

Ryan Matthews a former first round pick was supposed to be the Chargers savior at running back after LaDainian Tomlinson. But for Matthews it has been a struggle to find consistency and this year he finally was able to put it all together.

After a good sophomore season where he had his first 1,000 yard rushing season expectations were high. Then in his 3rd season the wheels fell off. Matthews played in just 12 games that year and averaged less than 4 yards per carry which is the bench mark for running backs. Questions emerged on whether he could stay healthy and become the player they expected when they drafted him.

This year he showed the promise this Charger team was hoping for rushing for more than 1,200 yards 6 touchdowns and averaging 4.4 yards per carry.

Matthews knows he couldn't have done this by himself so he decided to buy his offensive linemen a gift to show appreciation to a job well done. Matthews bought each of his starting linemen a Gucci watch.
