Saturday Predictions

In the first game of the day we will see the Kansas City Chiefs visit the Indianapolis Colts. Unlike our afternoon game this one will thankfully be played in a dome.

These two teams bet just a couple of weeks ago in Kansas City where the Colts upset them in a game they were not expected to win. Ever since Reggie Wayne had gone down with a torn ACL this Colts team had struggled offensively until recently. The Colts biggest issues are defending a strong running attack and that is exactly what the Chiefs and Jamal Charles bring to the table.

The Colts also struggle against teams that can really get after the QB and it sounds like the Chiefs will be getting their best pass rusher this season, Justin Houston, back for today's game.

The Chiefs have lost their last two games and since 2001 the Colts are 7-2 against the Chiefs in their head to head matchups. Granted many of those wins were with Peyton Manning at the helm but Andrew Luck is 2-0 against them.

I see this game as the first team to 30 will win. I have the Chiefs winning 31-24.

In our second game we the the New Orleans Saints traveling to Philadelphia to face the Eagles in what should be a cold and possible very snowy game. The Saints have really struggled on the road this season and to have to be outside in the cold and snow and play an Eagles team built for these weather conditions will be tough.

I think if the Eagles are able to get after Brees and pressure him this could end up as a blowout, but you have to question which Eagles team is going to show up. Is it the team that lost late in the season to the Vikings which could've clinched the division, the same team that almost lost to a Cowboys team during a play in game missing their offensive and defensive leaders. Or is it the team that crushed the Bears and looked like one of those wild card teams getting a hot at the right time.

In situations like todays game I will typically lean towards an experienced coach and quarterback when facing a rookie coach and a quarterback entering his first playoff experienced game. I am taking the Saints 27-24.
