Coaching Notes

Leslie Frazier has said he is headed to Tampa Bay to be the defensive coordinator with Lovie Smith's new team. It was known that Frazier was a high candidate on Smith's list and Cowboys coach Rob Marinelli was another option but the Cowboys are retaining Marinelli which made the choice a no brainer for Lovie Smith. Frazier who was recently fired from Minnesota and also called a coward by his former punter Chris Kluwe got this bit of good news quickly. Before becoming the Head Coach for the Vikings Frazier was their defensive coordinator back when that defense was tops in the league against the rush.

After James Franklin missed out on the Texans, Texas and Penn St jobs, it looks like he still has plenty of options. Sources are saying that he has been requested to interview with both the Cleveland Browns and Washington Redskins. Franklin has been at Vanderbilt since 2011.

After the Steelers made some coaching staff decisions yesterday one of them was retaining the likes of Todd Haley as their offensive coordinator. Haley and Big Ben reportedly weren't getting along to well in the beginning of the season but clearly that relationship must have gotten stronger for him to be returning next season.

Mike Munchak of the Tennessee Titans found out yesterday that the Titans will be retaining his services as the head coach. The GM flew to Munchak's home to discuss the future of the team and have decided to continue with Munchak at the helm.
