Bears Feel Good About the Next 7

The Chicago Bears have reached an agreement to bring Jay Cutler back for the next 7 seasons according to sources today.

Jay Cutler who the Bears received via trade with the Broncos in 2009. Cutler, 30, and his new head coach Marc Trestman saw great improvement in Cutler's ball security this season. Cutler still battled injuries which has been the case these past few season, but hopefully this offseason will continue to address some of those offensive line needs.

As general manager Phil Emery put it "Jay doesn't have to be better than Aaron Rodgers, the Bears just have to be better than the Packers." Emery knows how important retaining their guy was and wanted to get the done quickly. This is still a competitive team that has a win now mentality and it is not realistic to think there are better options via free agency or the draft.
