Texans Looking to Make a Roar

The Houston Texans have found their 4th Head Coach in franchise history. Bill O'Brien of Penn State and formerly of the New England Patriots will take over one of the newest franchises in the NFL. The Houston Texans started in 2002 after taking over the former Houston Oilers. Since 2002 the only coaches they have had are Dom Capers and Gary Kubiak. Wade Phillips was an interim head coach this season after the Texans let go of Kubiak in the middle of the season.

Bill O'Brien is taking over a team that many thought would have been Super Bowl contenders this season. After Matt Schaub struggled to play at his normal level this season the team decided the best move was to go with young Houston product Case Keenum.

O'Brien inherits a very strong running game with Arian Foster, he may be without the likes of Ben Tate who is set to test free agency this off season and may receive top dollar to become a starting running back elsewhere. O'Brien also has two very good wide receivers and a tight end in Andre Johnson, DeAndre Hopkins and Owen Daniels.

The defense is still top notch and while it had its struggles this season they still return very good safeties and a very strong front 7.

It will be interesting to see what Bill O'Brien wants to do with his first overall pick. I think with O'Brien being an offensive minded guy that he may look to move that pick (much like the Patriots typically do) and keep Schaub as their QB or select someone later in the draft.
