Team Needs: Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers- Bruce Arians left the Steelers and you could really see how that hurt the offensive rhythm and timing this team had the season before. The Steelers also saw the age of their defense come into play but still remained the top in the league. This offense under-performed and desperately showed what the lack of a strong running game does to them. Troy Polamalu showed his durability issues, James Harrison is now on the division rival Bengals and Mike Wallace took his talents to Miami. This team has more needs than they normally do and much of this has to do with a lack of salary cap money, age and durability questions throughout the team.

Key Statistics 2012:
Total Offense: 21st
Passing Offense: 14th
Rushing Offense: 26th
Passing TD/INT (ranks): 27/14 (T-8th/T-19th)
Rushing TD: T-27th
Sacks Allowed: T-14th
Total Defense: 1st
Passing Defense: 1st
Rushing Defense: 2nd
Sacks/INT (ranks): 37/10 (T-15th/T-27th)

Free Agency:
Key Losses: WR Mike Wallace, NT Casey Hampton, OG Willie Colon, LB James Harrison, RB Rashard Mendenhall, CB Keenan Lewis, OT Max Starks

Key Additions: TE Matt Spaeth, CB Williams Gay

Draft Needs:
Defensive Line: The Steelers if they do not resign Casey Hampton need to find a nose tackle. There are some very talented ones that could be found at their pick in the second round. They did draft NT last year in the 4th round in Ta'amu but I still think they'll look here if the type of player they love falls to them in the second or third.

Linebacker: They drafted Sean Spence in the third round last year, resigned Larry Foote and still have Lawrence Timmons but they need an outside rusher and depth at their ILB positions. They struggled blitzing last year and will need to find linebackers who can rush off the edge and make impact plays.

Defensive Back: They lost Ryan Mundy who was a good back up safety in their scheme and will need to find someone to be there to step in when Polamula gets hurt like he does each year. At corner they need a playmaker. At corner they could use someone to replace Lewis and some young depth at the position.

Running Back: They lost Mendenhall via free agency and Chris Rainey and Jonathan Dwyer were average at best last season. I don't think they draft a running back high unless someone special falls to them like Eddie Lacy in the second or Johnathan Franklin in the third.
