Team Needs: New York Jets

New York Jets- Rex Ryan predicted the super bowl, Tim Tebow was supposed to be an image and locker room savior and the defense should have been one of the top in the league. Yet, everything seemed to digress. The offense took a major step in the wrong direction. They wanted to go back to ground and pound and that failed miserably. Defensively, they struggled to get after the quarterback and they couldn't stop the run game. Revis now has been traded to the Buccaneers, which will leave a major hole in the Jets secondary.

Key Statistics 2012:
Total Offense: 30th
Passing Offense: 30th
Rushing Offense: 12th
Passing TD/INT (ranks): 14/19 (T-29/T-3rd)
Rushing TD: T-13th
Sacks Allowed: 6th
Total Defense: 8th
Passing Defense: 2nd
Rushing Defense: 26th
Sacks/INT (ranks): 30/11 (T-25th/T-23rd)

Free Agency:
Key Losses: OG Brandon Moore, S LaRon Landry, TE Dustin Keller, CB Darrelle Revis (trade), RB Shonn Greene, LB Bart Scott, OT Jason Smith

Key Additions: OG Willie Colon, S Dawan Landry

Draft Needs:
Linebacker: The Jets were one of the worst teams at getting after the quarterback this past season and using one of their now two first round picks on an outside linebacker will address at least one major need. They have spent the last two drafts addressing defensive line help but with the loss of Bart Scott and the lack of production from the outside makes this a large need.

Cornerback: Revis was injured almost all of the 2012 season and this team still finished as one of the best pass defenses in the league. They still need depth though, Cromartie and Wilson will man the outside and will need Wilson to become the first round talent they drafted him to be. This draft has the type of players the Jets covet and they will look in the 2nd or 3rd round to get one.

Quarterback: Mark Sanchez clearly can not be a starter in the pressurized media fueled city that is New York. I think that he is a quality starter but isn't a franchise savior. Rumors swirling around is now that the trade has occurred the Jets may be looking to draft Geno Smith and Tavon Austin with their first two picks. While I don't think that will be their direction, I do think quarterback will be taken at some point in this draft.

Offensive Line: 6th in sacks allowed, I don't care who their starting quarterback is next season, if you allow your quarterback to get hit that often he won't be successful. Adding Willie Colon helps but guard is still an issue and so is right tackle. I could see the Jets trading down to select Fluker and trying to add another pick in this draft if possible.
