Bengals Draft Even Better?

The Cincinatti Bengals announced Monday afternoon that they have resigned their 2009 1st round pick to a very team friendly 3 year 18 million dollar contract. The Bengals 6th overall pick gets 5 million guaranteed and his salary cap numbers are 6 million, 5.2 million and  6.8 million.

Andre Smith was ranked as the 4th best tackle in his prime by NFL.com. He ranks behind Sebastian Vollmer, Jake Long and Phil Loadholt. Considering both Vollmer and Gosder Cherilus both got close to 7 million a year, the Bengals get Smith at a discount at just 6 million a year. The Bengals knew they had a deal in place before the draft, which allowed the Bengals to focus elsewhere.
