Team Needs: Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles- The Eagles came into the season with high hopes that their defense would be tops in the league and the offense with Vick would be high octane and difficult to contain. Yet, by seasons end we saw Andy Reid lose his job, Mike Vick lost his job to Nick Foles (because of injury), and they fired their defensive coordinator mid-season. This team brings in an outside the box thinker in Chip Kelly at head coach and he has the type of players he loves. With Desean Jackson, McCoy, Vick, Maclin and Brown this team could be very exciting this season. I see Chip Kelly focusing on the defense in this draft while looking to get his valued type players in the mid rounds.

Key Statistics 2012:
Total Offense: 15th
Passing Offense: 13th
Rushing Offense: 13th
Passing TD/INT (ranks): 18/15 (T-25th/T-16th)
Rushing TD: T-21st
Sacks Allowed: 5th
Total Defense: 15th
Passing Defense: 9th
Rushing Defense: 23rd
Sacks/INT (ranks): 30/8 (T-25th/30th)

Free Agency:
Key Losses: DT Cullen Jenkins, CB Nnamdi Asomugha, CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, DT Mike Patterson, LB Akeem Jordan

Key Additions: LB Connor Barwin, S Kenny Phillips, DT Isaac Sopoaga, S Patrick Chung, CB Cary Williams, P Donnie Jones

Draft Needs:
Defensive Line: Fletcher Cox and newly acquired Sopoaga strengthen their defensive tackle position but depth is still an issue there. Defensive end could use a significant pass rusher with the ability to play the run. All in all this is not their top need and I don't see them going in this direction in round one.

Offensive Tackle: They have two very good tackles but they are getting old and have a difficult time of staying healthy. There are some very good tackles in this years draft and I could see them taking one of them early or looking to trade down and acquire someone like Fluker or look in the 2nd or 3rd round for someone like Terron Armstead or Xavier Nixon.

Cornerback: The Eagles lost both their starting corners from last year and replaced one of them with Cary Williams. Their safety positions were addressed with Patrick Chung and Kenny Phillips, and I think their depth at that position is fine. A player like Dee Milliner or Jamar Taylor (2nd round) could be the way they could go if they stand pat and don't trade out of their pick.

Wide Receiver: In a Chip Kelly style offense, Jackson and Maclin will get tired and there needs to be players that can rotate in to help these two. This class has some players in the mid rounds that Kelly covets and I can see 3rd or the 4th round being dedicated to the position if the right player is there.
