Team Needs: Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota Vikings- One of the most surprising and intriguing teams this past season was the Vikings. Adrian Peterson's come back season was a thing of beauty as he attempted, but eventually fell short of the single season rushing record. Christian Ponder's play at quarterback was sub-par, which has led many to believe that quarterback is a focus in this years draft. They traded away Percy Harvin their second most dynamic player for Greg Jennings, who has durability problems, to help their passing game.

Key Statistics 2012:
Total Offense: 20th
Passing Offense: 31st
Rushing Offense: 2nd
Passing TD/INT (ranks): 18/12 (T-25th/T-24th)
Rushing TD: T-9th
Sacks Allowed: 22nd
Total Defense: 16th
Passing Defense: 24th
Rushing Defense: 11th
Sacks/INT (ranks): 44/10 (T-10th/T-27th)

Free Agency:
Key Losses: WR Percy Harvin (trade), CB Antoine Winfield, LB Jasper Brinkley

Key Additions: WR Greg Jennings, QB Matt Cassell

Draft Needs:
Wide Receiver: In what was clearly a disappointing group in 2012 outside of Percy Harvin, looks even worse for the wear in 2013. Percy Harvin gave you many different dimensions offensively where Jennings will just be your outside receiver. Jerome Simpson disappointed after returning from his four game suspension. I don't think they package their two first round picks to trade up but I do think they'll draft one with either first round pick.

Cornerback: Losing Antoine Winfield takes away a true starter who was a very good player for the Vikings. The Vikings finished 24th in the league in pass defense and I see them addressing this need early.

Offensive Tackle: The Vikings did what they were supposed to do in bringing back Phil Loadholt. They did draft a very good tackle in Matt Kalil last year but they could use depth and someone to eventually replace Loadholt.

Safety: Harrison Smith was an excellent pick in last years draft but this team needs someone to play along side him. They stayed relatively quiet in free agency so I think they like the depth of this position this year.
