Waiver Wire Targets

Here are players owned in last than 50% of leagues that I think needed to be added to most teams looking to replace injured stars or players who are not panning out the way they hoped.

Quarterbacks:

Kirk Cousins Washing Redskins (Owned in .6%): He came in for RGIII and played brilliantly showing a good strong command of the offense. He has shown in the past that he can put up very good fantasy numbers and with the news of him starting I think this puts him near that top 15 range. He has a nice matchup the next two weeks but in weeks 5-7 he has an extremely difficult stretch. So keep that in mind if you need a quarterback to play significant weeks.

Joe Flacco Baltimore Ravens (Owned in 17.9%): Flacco has but up back to back solid fantasy weeks and I like his schedule for most of the rest of this season. He has a tough matchup in week 4 against the Panthers and again in week 8 at Cinci (he put up 16.5 points on them at home). He is a top 20 quarterback but with how much he is being asked to throw he is going to creep up into the top 15 possibly top 12 if he keeps taking care of the ball the he has so far.

Running Backs:

Ahmad Bradshaw Indianapolis Colts (Owned in 14.3%): We saw vintage Bradshaw last night and when healthy this guy is a very good running back. Richardson out carried him but Bradshaw still put up 70 yards running and was heavily involved in the passing game. He should be owned in all leagues and for most teams could be a #2 back with all the injuries. He is a great fit for this Colts offense.

Kniles Davis Kansas City Chiefs (Owned in 1.7%): Jamaal Charles went down with a high ankle sprain and its hasn't been determined how much time he will miss. Davis should be owned in all leagues and he proved that once he came in for the injured Charles. He looked great running it against a decent run defense and looked better than Charles did before the injury. Davis is a dynamic playmaker who could start for most teams.

Khiry Robinson New Orleans Saints (Owned in 39.1%): The Saints seem to be making a strong emphasis on the run game this year and that was great news for Mark Ingram who was looked great the past two weeks running the football. But word broke yesterday that Ingram broke his hand and will be out for atleast a month. This is good news for Robinson who should see an increased work load and should be owned in most leagues.

Wide Receivers:

James Jones Oakland Raiders (Owned in 23.9%): Jones is clearly the favorite target of Derek Carr and he is putting up very respectable fantasy numbers. This team has the ability to get in the red zone and when they do James is clearly the guy Carr is looking for. I like Jones as a possible flex play and would be a nice pick up for teams who lost some of their receivers to injuries this week.

Andrew Hawkins Cleveland Browns (Owned in 5.0%): This is more of a PPR play but does hold some fantasy value in standard leagues as well. Hawkins is averaging double digit targets in back to back weeks and is making the most of it. He isn't going to be a touchdown guy but he is a high volume one and because of that should certainly be owned in more than 5% of fantasy leagues. He will consistently put up between 6-8 points a week and if he does get into the endzone than he gave you a very good week.

Brian Quick St. Louis Rams (Owned in .9%): Kenny Britt is still owned in more leagues than Brian Quick who is clearly this teams best wide receiver. He has now had back to back strong performances and the Rams are clearly trying to get the ball in his hands often. He is a big play threat who has been catching short to intermediate routes as well. If Shaun Hill comes back at QB than Quick might start having some really big games. I like him as a flex play this week.

Tight Ends:

Antonio Gates San Diego Chargers (Owned in 52.7%): Normally my list consists of guys owned in less than 50% of leagues but the fact the Gates looks like he entered the fountain of youth and has returned to old form and is only owned in 52% of leagues is crazy. With Jordan Reed hurt, Jason Witten stinking it up, Kyle Rudolph not putting up numbers there is no way he shouldn't be owned in all leagues. Gates is currently a top 5 TE for me for the remainder of the season if he can stay healthy.

Delanie Walker Tennessee Titans (Owned in 28.9%): Walker is a borderline top 10 fantasy tight end right now with good upside. Locker feels very comfortable with him especially in the red zone and right now is the most consistent option in their passing game. He needs to be owned in more leagues because he would probably start at tight end for you right now.
