Deeper League Stashes

If you feel like you have some weaker positions I don't recommend grabbing and stashing these guys on your bench. These are players who may make an impact late in the season or next year for people in Keeper or Dynasty leagues.

Players who'll show best bang for your buck early:

1.) Cody Latimer: With the Welker suspension happening the first 4 weeks of the season is was thought that Andre Caldwell would replace him with Latimer filling in. But rumors out of Denver is that Latimer will replace most of Welker's slot plays. Latimer has the potential to become a big time player in Denver, if he grasps the offense well and has a good chemistry he could be a WR3.

2.) Jeremy Hill: Jeremy Hill is replacing BenJarvus Green-Ellis and his goal line touches. Cincinnati likes to use a two headed monster at running back. They used him plenty in the preseason to see what he could handle and he proved that if Bernard goes down they have their replacement.

3.) Marqise Lee: PPR leagues will want to keep an eye on Lee. He is the best option at wide receiver currently, unless Cecil Shorts proves he is 100%.  Lee looks like he may gather a lot of receptions for short routes so don't expect big yardage but every now and again he can break a big play. I like Lee a lot after the first couple of big rookies come off the board.

Players who will have value later in the season:

1.) Alfred Blue: Word is the Texans are grooming this kid to be Arian Foster's replacement. Currently Jonathan Grimes is the #2 but Alfred Blue will see more action throughout the year than I think Grimes will. Blue is being used in the passing game during the pre season and I think that will continue into the season.

2.) Rueben Randle: It is only a matter of time until Eli grows comfortable with the new offense. Victor Cruz will remain his #1 target but without Nicks teams will look to double team him more often. Randle is a very good outside receiver with a knack for the endzone. From week 6 or 7 on I can see Randle producing at a top 20 level.

3.) Ryan Broyles: Kevin Ogletree is slotted as the #3 in Detroit but I don't think that lasts long with Ryan Broyles healthy and in waiting. He has had flashes of great plays with the Lions and I think by mid season he takes over the #3 role.

Players who are a year away but could show late in the year:

1.) Denard Robinson: Toby Gerhart as a back up in Minnesota had trouble staying healthy and today the Jaguars announced that Robinson is the #2. Robinson is an explosive athlete and given the chance he could surprise. He is a competitive player who has made the transition from college QB to NFL RB quickly.

2.) Dri Archer: The Steelers looked for ways to get Archer involved in the offense this preseason and if Markus Wheaton struggles early in the season I can see Archer becoming a main stay as a slot guy in this passing offense. If nothing else I expect them to use him a lot next season. He is to explosive of a player to ride the bench year in and year out.
