No Surprises Here: Fantasy Tight End Rankings 2014

No one touches the top 3 in this class. Jimmy Graham, Rob Gronkwski and Julius Thomas are head and shoulders above this class but there are some tight ends who have ended up in fortunate situations i.e. Greg Olsen being the top receiving option in Carolina, Levine Toilolo replacing Tony Gonzalez.

Jimmy Graham
Rob Gronkowski
Julius Thomas
Greg Olsen
Kyle Rudolph
Vernon Davis
Jason Witten
Zach Ertz
Jordan Cameron
Jordan Reed
Dennis Pitta
Martellus Bennett
Travis Kelce
Levine Toilolo
Antonio Gates
Ladarius Green
Charles Clay
Delanie Walker
Dwayne Allen
Heath Miller
Eric Ebron
Tyler Eifert
Coby Fleener
Jace Amaro
Timothy Wright
Austin Seferian-Jenkins
Jared Cook

Busts: Antonio Gates: It's time, his run near the top is slowing coming to the end for one of the greatest tight ends of our generation. Ladarius Green is ready to take the reigns and I think we are going to see an even split in snaps and targets between these two. I have Gates outside my top 12 and would make for a good backup in case he has one more big season in him.

Breakouts: Greg Olsen: Olsen is now the #1 receiver in Carolina, rumor has it that Cam and Benjamin have quite the chemistry but I don't trust that offensive line. I think Cam is going to have to get the ball out quickly and make fast decisions and he'll go where he has always gone to Olsen.

Sleeper: Zach Ertz: Ertz is getting rave reviews out of Eagles camp, he is being talked about for his size and athleticism. I have seen average projections on him which would place him just outside the top 10 and projections that put him inside the top 5. I don't think either is very accurate but something in the middle which places him somewhere in the back end of the top 10 with the upside of a top 5 player.
