Monday Morning Hangover

Atlanta Falcons at New York Giants:

Matt Ryan continues his struggles on the road and in outdoor stadiums as he throws just 1 touchdown pass and 1 interception. Stephen Jackson got into the endzone and lead the team in carries but struggled averaging just 2.8 yards per carry. Rookie Devonta Freeman lead the running backs with 38 yards rushing on just 4 carries. Antone Smith showed off his speed again. He is worth stashing if you have an available spot and can wait, I think at some point this team has to start giving this guy more touches. Julio Jones had a good fantasy game but Matt Ryan spread the ball around a lot. I wouldn't worry if I owned Roddy White he is still relevant but owners should expect these types of games every now and again.

As for the Giants, Eli had another strong outing, he is a QB2 if he can keep up this turnover free football. The big news in this game is Rashad Jennings getting hurt, early reports are a sprained knee, he says he feels alright but we'll know more tomorrow after the MRI. Andre Williams came in and played well. He is probably owned in most leagues but if he isn't I would add him just in case. Randle led the team in targets followed by Cruz and Beckam. I added Beckam in my dynasty league because I think there is a lot of potential there. Donnell only saw 1 target my concern is now that Beckam is healthy Donnell's target will be the one that suffers.

Chicago Bears at Carolina Panthers:

Jay Cutler continues his strong play in fantasy but shows his struggles to win big games. Forte had a great day for fantasy owners, this is back to back strong games from him. Marshall clearly isn't healthy yet and its showing. Martellus Bennett had a quiet game, typically he slows down later in the season so I am willing to say this was just a rough game for everyone but Jeffrey and Forte.

Benjamin had 11 targets but only hauled in 3 passes, that is something we can expect with any rookie at any position inconsistency is part of the game. Chris Ogbonnaya scored a TD and Darrin Reaves led the team in carries but neither are worth adding. Greg Olsen showed that last week was because he got banged up and his back looking like a top 4 tight end this season. Cam Newton had a decent game but if he isn't running he doesn't hold the same fantasy value as he did in years past.

Cleveland Browns at Tennessee Titans:

Brian Hoyer working his way back to be look at as a starting QB in 16 team leagues. It was against the Tennessee Titans who have been struggling the last few weeks defensively though. Ben Tate returned to what he looked like on his 6 carries in week one before he got hurt.  He had a career high in rushing yards and over 5 yards per carry. Andrew Hawkins had a disappointing game following a great stretch before the bye week. Cameron looked healthy but clearly isn't putting up the same numbers he did a year ago. He is outside the tight end top 10 for me until he has a good game. I wouldn't dump him just yet though give him another week or two.

Jake Locker was looking great until his hand slammed on a defenders helmet. His Xrays were clean and we should know the result sometime tomorrow afternoon. We knew Kendall Wright coming into this season was going to have better luck finding the endzone, he caught his 2nd & 3rd touchdowns of the season today. Hunter finally had his first big play of the season scoring on a 75 yard touchdown. He was still the 3rd most targeted receiver on this team. Shonn Greene is still the lead back and for those expecting a great game out of Bishop Sankey were clearly disappointed.

St. Louis Rams at Philadelphia Eagles:

Austin Davis is looking like the real deal after another strong outing. The team was out of it early causing him to have to throw it a lot to catch up but he didn't throw any interceptions, through for 375 yards and 3 touchdowns. Stacy suffered a calf injury and Cunningham came in and was doing better than Stacy. Stacy owners should be very concerned, I think Cunningham if given the chance to start could end up taking over or atleast making it 50/50 on touches. Cook led the team in targets but Quick showed his stay as a top 20 wide receiver is legit. Kenny Britt has looked decent last two games and could be worth a deep stash in deeper leagues.

Mccoy had a better game today but most people were expecting a larger impact from him. Sproles had a good game YPC wise but only saw 7 rushes. Maclin remains the only receiver I want to start on this Eagles offense and unless I am in a keeper or dynasty league I am not owning Jordan Matthews. Ertz was 3rd in targets but didn't do much with them. He has potential but he is outside the top 10 unless they start using him in the red zone more often.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints:

Mike Glennon making a case to remain the starter and that is good news for Vincent Jackson owners. Jackson saw 12 targets had 8 catches and 144 yards. Last year with Glennon as his QB Jackson was a top 20 wide receiver and looks like he will be again. Other than Jackson I am not interested in any other receivers other than Mike Evans who is hurt. Doug Martin is still the man at RB but it is only a matter of time until Bobby Rainey takes it over.

Drew Brees threw it around 57 times today he threw 3 int and just doesn't look like himself this season but either way he is still a top 6 QB. Khiry Robinson had a good game but I still think this is Mark Ingram's job to have when he returns. Pierre Thomas finally saw a return to the passing game seeing 10 targets, 2nd in receptions and caught a TD. Brandin Cooks is a legit WR2 in PPR leagues and a WR3 in standard. Colston is slowly falling by the waist side after another quiet game in a big passing game.

Houston Texans at Dallas Cowboys:

Arian Foster shows if he is playing you are playing him. He hasn't been as involved in the passing game but this team runs as much or more than every team in the league right now. Andre Johnson led the team in target but once again it was DeAndre Hopkins leading the team in both receptions and yards. Other than those 3 I am not owning any other player in fantasy on this team.

I think Tony Romo's issues earlier in the year had to do more so with his back than this team being more dedicated to the run. Clearly, they are still running the ball with Murray getting 31 carries but Romo is able to throw the ball deeper now. Terrence Williams got in the endzone again and is worth starting for teams looking for a high risk high reward guy as he only gets a couple catches a game. Dez Bryant clearly a top 5 player in this league at this position. Witten is worth owning in PPR leagues but in standard leagues I think it is time to drop him.

Buffalo Bills at Detroit Lions:

Kyle Orton era has starting in Buffalo but the only offensive players to reap the rewards were Fred Jackson and Sammy Watkins. Jackson starting to take control of the backfield as well again. Other than Jackson and Watkins I'm not owning any other Bills, Spiller is drop worthy in my mind unless you want a handcuff to Jackson.

Reggie Bush got hurt but wasn't a major factor before that. No word on how serious the Bush injury is. Calvin Johnson is continuing to disappoint owners and Golden Tate continuing to raise his stock as a top 15 WR. Other than that no one impressed me this week. George Wynn took over for Bush after his injury and played well but Joique Bell should return next week so he'll go back to being a back up unless Riddick is healthy as well.

Baltimore Ravens at Indianapolis Colts:

Joe Flacco had his worst game of the season against a great matchup. They got good production out of Forsett, Pierce & Taliaferro. Forsett looks to be a legit player in PPR leagues, Daniels slowly replacing Pitta and Steve Smith finally had a quiet game. Torrey Smith saw 8 targets this week but didn't do much with it.

Andrew Luck continues to put up strong weeks even against a good defense. Bradshaw finally overtook Richardson in carries this week and I think that trend will continue as long as Bradshaw is healthy. TY Hilton and Reggie Wayne were the top targets and only receiving weapons Luck went after this week. Moncrief saw 0 targets and Nicks saw some and was targeted in the end zone.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Jacksonville Jaguars:

Big Ben had a decent game still outside the top 15 because of the numbers others are putting up at the moment. Bell had a good game and continues to be a top 5 back this season. Antonio Brown had another good game but no touchdown. Other than that other players on the Steelers are match up based.

The Allens saw 11 targets each with Allen Robinson doing the most with with it getting 5 receptions. Bortles struggled against his first test at a top defense. Only other noteworthy piece is that Storm Johnson (Bortles running back in college) saw his first action and did well with his 4 carries. Keep an eye on if he gets an increased workload next week. Shouldn't be to hard to take over as lead back in this offense.

Arizona Cardinals at Denver Broncos:

Drew Stanton wasn't getting much done before he left the game with a possible concussion and rookie QB Logan Thomas wasn't much better. Completing just one pass but it was a big one to Andrew Ellington for 81 yards who had his best game the season running and receiving a TD. He accounted for a 144 total yards. No other receiver had a good game and that is going to happen until Palmer is back.

Peyton Manning looked like last years version and had a monster day. All the usual suspects had monster games but the big news is Montee Ball got hurt. Early reports are Ball is going to be "out awhile" and that makes Hillman a hot commodity but also keep a close eye on CJ Anderson who was inactive this week but could also take over as well.

Kansas City Chiefs at San Francisco 49ers:

Jamaal Charles looks healthy and had a good game against a strong run defense. Kelce had a touchdown but other than that it was a quiet game for him. Junior Hemingway was the best looking receiver but I never take much stock into one game wonders.

Gore struggled first few games but he has been coming out with a bang since. He is running like a top 10 back right now and with the struggles of other top 10 guys one could argue he is playing at top 5 level. Other than that it was a quiet game for the receivers. Brandon Lloyd showing he is the #3 receiver not Stevie Johnson as he continues to play more and see more targets.

New York Jets at San Diego Chargers:

Geno Smith got benched for Michael Vick but that didn't help the offense at all and Rex Ryan said they will be going back to Smith next week. Other than that there was no good fantasy production from anyone on this team.

Outside of the usual names for the Chargers Brandon Oliver is making a name for himself. He looked good in the preseason and he has continued it into this year. He faced a very good run defense leading into this game and dominated them. Donald Brown got hurt but Oliver should be considered a top 10 back heading into their matchup next week.

Cincinnati Bengals at New England Patriots:

Bernard finally ran the ball better than he has in a couple of weeks but he didn't get enough touches in a blow out loss. The Bengals team in general struggled all game long but on the bright side both AJ Green and Mohamed Sanu shined. Sanu making a strong case he needs to be considered as a top 25 wide receiver this season. I think he continues this production even with the return of Marvin Jones.

Shane Vereen where have you been? He finally returned to fantasy relevance this week totaling 131 yards with 113 coming from the ground game. Gronkowski had his best game of the season and the Patriots offense finally clicked. Brady had a good game with 2 Tds but his yardage total was low and that'll be the trend even when this offense is rolling like it was tonight. The biggest news for fantasy owners was Tim Wrights coming out party was tonight. With the recent struggle of other tight ends he has the ability to be a top 15 maybe even top 12 Tight end.
